FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Janauary 22, 2011

Don Akers, Prinicpal of Water Pro Development, has been invited to speak for the WQA, at Aquatech USA 2011.

Akers will be part of an expert panel for the Dealer Section Education. The topic will be: ”Regents Report Explaining Salt-Free Systems to Consumers.”

Don will explain how dealers can turn any call — including ones about “saltless” water softeners — into a potential client. He will reveal how to guide customers to their best choice while building trust and maintaining complete integrity.

Salt-free systems are a hot topic in the industry right now. Don hopes to make it easier for dealers to be completely honest, true to their beliefs, and win the customers who want what they offer. At the end of the day it’s not about what’s “true” or “right” because, as competitors, we’ll always disagree, but what is best for the customer given their situation and needs.

Don is always happy to work with the WQA because of their commitment to the water industry through technical and professional training, standards of excellence, and commitment to ethical business practices. Above all the WQA exists for the water dealers, small business people who contribute to their communities and improve the quality of their customers’ lives.

The panel will be held March 10, 2011 from 8:00 – 9:15 AM at the Henry B. Gonzalez Center in San Antonio, Texas.

If you want to grow today, you have to get a bigger share of the pie…outsell, out service, out deliver the competition.

It’s not enough to work harder, we have to work smarter. Everyone is working harder for less. If you want a bigger share of the market you have to get better at finding, selling to, and serving customers.

The game is changing and so are the customers. They have more information and more options because of the Internet. The big box stores are advertising that their equipment is “just as good” as yours even though we know their products cut corners to sell it at lower prices.

Dealers need to be easier to find, more connected with professional referrals and better at explaining your value — so the customers who care about value choose you.

And you have to respond faster! The fastest growing segment of the market are their twenties and thirties. They’re shopping online for information, and they make decisions quickly.

The game is changing. To come out ahead a company needs to be easy to find and easy to work with. That means more effective professional relationships, more visibility in you market and the “soft skills” to build trust quickly and explain your value.
